Otto Weiss (*1991, Prague) is a Czech singer and actor whose artistic roots reach back to the legendary Semafor Theatre.

He has been devoted to the arts since childhood — from folk dance and solo singing studies to the Prague Conservatory, where he developed both his vocal technique and stage presence.

BEGINNINGS

On stage since his teens.

He has been performing on professional stages since his teens. At the age of fourteen, he played Lucifer in the musical The Temptation of St. Anthony at Semafor Theatre. This was followed by roles in Lysistrata, A Bouquet of Folk Legends, Cinderella, The Madhouse and other productions.

He has also appeared in film and television productions, including Sideways, Herbert in the Ring, The Water Goblin and Caroline.

MUSIC

Orchestra. Band. Audience.

In 2011, he became a soloist with Václav Hybš’s orchestra and toured throughout the Czech Republic.

In 2013, he became the frontman of the Pilsen ska-punk band Tleskač. The experience strengthened his connection with audiences, his live-performance drive and his ability to carry the energy of an entire evening.

THE JOURNEY

Slowing down was not the end.

His professional path gradually expanded beyond the stage. He pursued business, concept development and his own projects, while music remained a constant part of his life — in lyrics, ideas and long-term visions.

His more intensive return to artistic work was therefore not a sudden change, but a natural continuation.

TODAY

Swing. Shows. New projects.

He is currently part of the Magnum Jazz Big Band. Swing, big-band music and concert programmes are a defining part of his musical identity.

Since 2025, he has also been a featured singer in entertainment shows by fashion designer Osmany Laffita, hosted by Eva Decastelo and touring throughout the Czech Republic.

He sees music and theatre as more than a performer alone.

For years he has worked in original writing, lyric writing, libretto adaptation, dramaturgy and directing. His work seeks to connect a strong story, emotion and a contemporary theatrical language.

The experience gained as a founder, director, writer and producer remains an integral part of his current work and now feeds into the development of new theatre projects, concerts, cultural events and original concepts.

Music and theatre are a natural way of working and living for me. On stage and beyond it, I want to create work that has meaning.
